Krikello is excellent for walking in the woods (the international path E4 passes in front of the guesthouse) and for excursions in the surrounding villages, mountains and rivers. The guests can visit the gorge of Pantavrehi (basically in the summer), the monastery of Proussos, but also participate in other activities such as:
Skiing in the ski area of Karpenissi (35 km), Horse riding, Mountain climbing, River rafting, Rappel, Mountain bike, Paintball.
The village of Krikello has restaurants with traditional food and grocery stores. Other villages nearby are the villages of Domnista, Arahova, Mikro Chorio, Megalo Chorio, Korishades. Information about the area and its services are given at the reception.
Evritania with its tradition, archeological and religious sites, and beautiful nature, has everything to satisfy a visitor. It combines calmness and relaxation, action and adventure.
It is surrounded by high mountains, endless forests and wild rivers; most of the area is above 1000 meters high. The mountains are: Agrafa, Timfristos, Oxia, Panetoliko, Helidona and Kalliakouda.The rivers are: Karpenisiotis, Tavropos (Megdovas), Agrafiotis, Krikelopotamos, Trikeriotis and Aheloos. Also in the area, since 1965, is the artificial lake of Kremasto, the biggest earth dam in Europe. Half of the land of Evritania is covered by forests. Large mammals like bears, deer, wild boar, wolves and many smaller animals find shelter here.
Evritania is historically known for the battle and victory against the Gauls in Kokkalia, the resistance against the Ottoman occupation in 1821 and the strong resistance during the Nazi occupation in World War II.
